It snowed in Philly last night!

It’s so peaceful on our block early in the morning before anyone drags themselves outside to shovel. It’s Saturday so no one’s in a hurry…. and neither am I. Notice all these pics are from inside our warm bedroom bay window:

Poor bikes. Here’s the snowy garden:

We love our garden block year-round but the fresh snow is just so pretty. Happy snow day!
Hi neighbors! A few interesting Philly-neighborhood items have come to my attention this week and I feel the need to pass on the knowledge:
* If you live in Graduate Hospital/ South of South/ whateverwecallitnow and haven’t seen this yet, you should take the SOSNA Community Survey. Click here
* Did you know: The City of Philadelphia has a Graffiti Abatement Team that will remove any graffiti you report to them, FOR FREE, within a week? That is tax dollars worth spending. Report your local annoying graffiti location here (even if it’s not on your own property): http://www.phila.gov/qualityoflife/Grafffiti_Removal.html (yes it’s 3 f’s in “graffiti”… i just triple checked!)
* Snow Removal: Section 10-720 of the City Code was amended this fall. It now requires property owners to clear a 36″ wide path along the sidewalk within 6 hours following the end of a snow fall.
(I promise this was taken within the 6 hour window!)
Saturday we made a day trip through New Jersey, and visited the stone remnent yard of our stone guy in Little Egg Harbor, had a fun visit with Aunt Alice, Uncle Wayne and our animal cousins and then checked out an architectural salvage antiques place in Barnegut NJ
In the snow! With big chunks of glass!
Lots and lots of radiators
More rads with patterns similar to ours
We didn’t find quite what we wanted but it was sunny out and lots of fun to poke around and climb thru the snow drifts…
We rounded out the nj experience with a trip to the Container Store, a full service gas station and then picking up some out of state beer, and we only freaked out about ONE round-a-bout! We’re making progress!

Who Said What?
